We Are All Trying to Navigate Life

Have you needed therapy but felt embarrassed to give it a try?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Even in cultures where #psychotherapy is normative and common, it’s not unusual to feel anxious about exposing personal problems, especially to a stranger.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And yet, psychotherapy can reduce feelings of shame or embarrassment, even offering ways to feel newfound respect and appreciation for the many ways we suffer and survive.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The reality is we’re all trying to to figure out how to navigate life, feel well, and recover from our #losses. Skillful and sensitive #therapists will convey to their patients that we are all fellow-travelers finding our way through the funhouse of life and death and everything in between. Therapy can be a place where there’s room for the fuller truth of what you’ve lived through, and where the complexity of your experience can be known by someone who wants to keep learning more about you. In this way, it’s an opportunity to feel found by another, and to know this is possible.⁣⁣
