(2/1-3/22) 8 Week Course – Working with Difficult Emotions: A Buddhist and Psychotherapeutic Approach

This 8-week course will explore a range of emotions, including anger, anxiety and desire, from a spiritual and clinical perspective. Together we will reflect on the common and complex struggles with strong feelings and cultivate insights and tools to navigate them with greater ease. Optional readings will include Buddhist wisdom teachings and psychoanalytic literature. Experienced and beginning meditators are welcome.

Details: Mondays Feb 1 through March 22 at 6pm EST

Our teacher: Pilar is a psychoanalyst in private practice with a focus on the clinical applications of Buddhist meditation. She has been working with patients and their families through the Harlem Family Institute since 2004. She is a Visiting Lecturer at Union Theological Seminary, guest lecturer at Columbia University, and faculty member of the Nalanda Institute for Contemplative Science.

Cost: We are asking for donations for this course: $150 for the 8 weeks or $25 per class. Please email Pamela if you’d like to take this course and it would be difficult for you to donate the suggested amount.
